Machinery Operator

We are a contracting farming business seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with a “can-do” attitude to join our progressive farming system. Our arable services cover 1,600 hectares of cereals and potatoes, utilising modern Fendt tractors and Claas combines to ensure efficient and effective cropping. This cutting-edge machinery reflects our commitment to quality and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

The Skilled Arable Operator role encompasses a variety of tasks to deliver high-quality service to our customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Tractor Operations

  • Safely operate tractors and attached implements for agricultural tasks such as primary and secondary cultivations.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on tractors and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Assist in crop planting and cultivation, adhering to best agricultural practices.
  • Collaborate with the arable team to plan and execute field operations effectively.
  • Spraying and fertiliser applications

General Farm Work

  • Undertake tasks such as cultivations, trailer work, irrigation, excavator, and loader work.

Essential Qualifications / Traits:

  • Proven experience as a tractor operator 
  • Cultivation Experience
  • Spraying Experience
  • Familiarity with GPS-guided machinery and precision farming technologies.
  • Flexible to assist with tasks like irrigation, drainage and more
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, especially during peak seasons.
  • Valid Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical condition, capable of working in various weather conditions.

Desirable Qualifications /Traits :

  • PA1, PA2, PA4S&G certifications.
  • Additional workshop skills. 
  • Telehandler ticket.
  • Experience in agricultural practices and crop management.

Mechanic and Workshop Specialist

We are a contracting farming business seeking a skilled and motivated individual with a “can-do” attitude to join our progressive farming system. Our operations rely on a wide range of modern agricultural equipment, and this role is crucial in maintaining our machinery’s reliability and performance. This position reflects our commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

The Mechanic and Workshop Specialist role encompasses a variety of tasks to ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of farm equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Machinery Maintenance and Repair

  • Conduct regular repairs on tractors, combines, and other agricultural equipment / plant.
  • Perform operational checks and ensure machinery is in optimal working condition.

Welding and Fabrication:

  • Repair damaged parts and fabricate components as required for machinery and equipment.

Workshop Management:

  • Maintain an organised, clean, and safe workshop environment.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Machinery Operation:

  • Operate farm machinery when necessary to support seasonal and daily operations.

General Farm Work:

  • Undertake tasks such as irrigation works.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify and implement solutions to machinery and equipment challenges.
  • Collaborate with the team to innovate and enhance efficiency.

Essential Qualifications / Traits:

  • Proven experience in farm machinery maintenance and repair.
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills.
  • Willingness to operate machinery as needed.
  • Experience as a tractor operator
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good physical condition, capable of handling physically demanding tasks.

Roofing & General Property Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a Roofing & General Property Maintenance Technician to provide expert roofing services and perform a variety of property maintenance tasks. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the structural integrity and functionality of our clients’ commercial and domestic properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to work at heights, a solution-oriented approach, and the versatility to manage a wide range of maintenance duties.

Responsible to: Property Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of roofs to identify any damage and undertake the necessary repairs or replacements.
  •         Remove deteriorated roofing materials, prepare surfaces for new installations, and ensure a watertight seal..
  •         Accurately measure, cut, and fit roofing materials according to specific project requirements.
  • Estimate the labour and materials required for roofing projects and provide accurate quotes to customers.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and completion deadlines.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and procedures, especially when working at heights, to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other maintenance technicians to efficiently complete projects and coordinate necessary repairs and upgrades.
  • Stay updated on the latest building codes, best practices in roofing, and general property maintenance techniques.
  • Perform a broad spectrum of general property maintenance tasks to uphold high standards of care and upkeep.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed, adapting to the organisation’s evolving requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of various roofing materials and installation techniques.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in roofing (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety codes, building regulations, and industry standards.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and manual labor.
  • Reliable with excellent timekeeping.
  • Proven track record in roofing and general property maintenance.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, with strong carpentry skills for additional repairs.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to handle emergency situations outside regular working hours.
